Our standard journeys run 7 to 8 nights — enough to cover a region properly without rushing. If your time is limited, we can put together an express version of 3 to 4 nights that still covers the essentials, and if you have more time, extended journeys of 10 to 14 nights let you go deeper. Slovenia also sits conveniently between Italy, Croatia and Austria, making it an easy base for a multi-country trip — ask us about combining any of these.
Classic Slovenia covers the country's best-known landmarks — Lake Bled, Ljubljana, Postojna Cave, the coast and a thermal resort — and is the natural starting point for first-time visitors. Scenic Slovenia trades some of those landmarks for wilder, less-visited terrain — the Soča Valley, Škocjan Caves, Goriška Brda's vineyards — built for travelers who want to see Slovenia beyond the obvious.

Yes. The published itinerary is our recommended route, not a fixed script — nights can be added or removed, hotels upgraded, and stops adjusted. Tell us what you have in mind when you get in touch.
No. A deposit is required only once your dates, hotels and itinerary are fully confirmed in writing — never at the initial inquiry stage. Depending on the journey, some services or optional extras are paid directly on the day rather than included upfront. Full payment terms are shared with your booking confirmation.
Your guide travels with you on every excursion day and every transfer between destinations. On free days built into the itinerary, you're on your own to explore at your own pace. If you'd like to fill a free day with an optional excursion or want ideas for how to spend it, just let us know in advance — we're happy to suggest something, but this needs to be arranged ahead of time rather than on the day itself.
It depends on your citizenship. Slovenia is part of the Schengen Area and the European Union, so many visitors — including from the US, UK, Canada and most of the EU — can enter visa-free for short stays, and if your journey also crosses into Croatia or Italy, no extra border checks or visas are needed. Entry requirements can vary and change by nationality, so we recommend checking directly with your own country's consulate or embassy before you travel, rather than relying solely on general guidance.
Each season has its own advantages. Late spring (April–May) brings mild weather, blooming landscapes and fewer crowds. Summer (June–September) is warmest, with every excursion and mountain pass open, plus swimming on the Adriatic coast. Autumn (September–October) trades some heat for harvest season in the wine regions and quieter sightseeing. Even winter has its appeal — Slovenia's thermal resorts are a year-round draw, and Ljubljana's Christmas market is one of the most charming in Europe — though some alpine routes, like Vršič Pass, are closed by snow.
